About Ross Stays
Ross Stays is a research tool made by people who operate short term rentals for a living. Every number here is one we wanted before we bought something.
The short version
Ross Stays is built by Braydon Ross, founder and president of Ross Stays Inc., a boutique hospitality acquisition and operations company based in Calgary. Online he is known as @mrairbnb, where an audience of more than 140,000 people kept asking the same question in the comments: what would this property actually earn?
That question is harder to answer than it should be. The data exists, but it sits behind expensive subscriptions, black box scores, and tools built by companies that have never run a listing. We spent ten years operating instead of analyzing, and the gap between what an operator needs and what the software gives them never closed.
So we built the tool we wanted. A free revenue estimator that runs on any address on earth, in the local currency, without a credit card or a sales call. Deep market pages for 1,264 US and Canadian markets, with more countries coming. A scoring method with the math printed on the page so you can disagree with it. And a subscription app for the people who are underwriting seriously.
We are not a data company that discovered real estate. We are operators who got tired of bad research.

Past tense and deliberately so. The luxury resort operating model that ran these units is no longer running, but the operating knowledge is what this tool is built on.
Bookings generated
Across three combined sources: our own properties, client properties, and operators we have taught. Not personal volume, and we will always say which.
Other operating history: among the first operators in Canada to connect Airbnb directly into a hotel property management system at scale, a 70+ unit Edmonton hotel in 2019. How we operate
No projected returns
We show what markets have done and what listings are doing now. We do not forecast what your property will earn, because nobody honestly can.
No black box score
Every subscore shows its inputs, its weight, and the sentence of math behind it. If you disagree with a weighting, you can see exactly what to discount.
No selling your data
The estimator asks for an email so we can send your report. That is the whole trade. We do not sell lists.
No pretending to be neutral
Our parent company acquires and launches short term rentals. If you want that done for you, we will say so plainly rather than hiding it.
